How to avoid drone strikes

With Sen. Rand Paul’s filibuster over drone strikes ended I thought it would be appropriate to inform BMEWSers and BMEWSettes of several ways to avoid drone strikes. This is necessary because I don’t believe anything this misAdministration says.

1. Join the church where Al Sharpton is a preacher. No one knows where it is.
2. If you can’t find it, join the church Obama frequents.
3. If you can’t find that: register as a Republican Senate candidate from New York, New Jersey, or California.
4. Get a federal “green energy” loan, then declare bankruptcy. The U.S. government will cover for you.
5. Proclaim you are a victim of black-on-black crime. The media will render you invisible.
6. Come out as a black conservative. The media will render you unrecognizable.
7. If you are a woman: confess that Bill Clinton or Ted Kennedy once propositioned you.
8. Hide in the back of a Massachusetts senator’s submerged car. It will buy you at least a few hours.
9. Become a member of Obama’s Job Council.
10. Insert yourself in the next 2,000-page bill.
11. Follow Jesse Jackson to an honest day’s work.
12. Get friendly with Sandra Fluke. Nobody has ever been able to find any of those guys.
13. Say “Hi, I’m Jon Huntsman and I’m still running for president.”
14. Pretend you’re a salad; at least the First Lady won’t spot you.
15. Never walk in New York holding a 16oz Styrofoam soda cup.
16. Never drink from a bottle of water in front of a camera. This will put you in the media spotlight 24/7 for days.
17. Get in line at the DMV or another government office; by the time you emerge, drones will be obsolete.
18. Impersonate an American taxpayer.
19. Hide in plain sight in Benghazi; it makes a lot of difference.
20. Camp out at Obama’s shooting range; no one is ever there.
21. Stay where Obama keeps his college transcripts, U.S. passport records, or financial records. You will never be disclosed.
22. Set up in one of Chicago’s highest murder-rate zones. A truckload of fighters with RPGs will go undetected.
23. Hold a sign, preferably bilingual, declaring a “Drone-Free Zone.”

Another Watergate. Seriously??

My goodness, I’m sure the media will be all over this one, like white on rice. And stick with it until the last rock is overturned and all the worms brought into the light. Yeah right.

The offices of a Dallas law firm representing a high-profile State Department whistleblower were broken into last weekend. Burglars stole three computers and broke into the firm’s file cabinets. But silver bars, video equipment and other valuables were left untouched, according to local Fox affiliate KDFW, which aired security camera footage of the suspected burglars entering and leaving the offices around the time of the incident.

The firm Schulman & Mathias represents Aurelia Fedenisn, a former investigator at the State Department’s Office of the Inspector General. In recent weeks, she raised a slew of explosive allegations against the department and its contractors ranging from illicit drug use, soliciting sexual favors from minors and prostitutes and sexual harassment.

“It’s a crazy, strange and suspicious situation,” attorney Cary Schulman told The Cable. “It’s clear to me that it was somebody looking for information and not money. My most high-profile case right now is the Aurelia Fedenisn case, and I can’t think of any other case where someone would go to these great lengths to get our information.”

According to the KDFW report, the firm was the only suite burglarized in the high-rise office building and an unlocked office adjacent was left untouched.

Obama’s War On Whistleblowers continues. Run by underlings, minions, and volunteer crazy leftists ... plausible deniability ... no direct orders, just a wink and a nod and something akin to “Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?” Meanwhile, the White House just spews lies non-stop.

Fast And Furious: the “gift” that keeps on killing

WASHINGTON—A high-powered rifle lost in the ATF’s Fast and Furious controversy was used to kill a Mexican police chief in the state of Jalisco earlier this year, according to internal Department of Justice records, suggesting that weapons from the failed gun-tracking operation have now made it into the hands of violent drug cartels deep inside Mexico.

Luis Lucio Rosales Astorga, the police chief in the city of Hostotipaquillo, was shot to death Jan. 29 when gunmen intercepted his patrol car and opened fire. Also killed was one of his bodyguards. His wife and a second bodyguard were wounded.

Local authorities said eight suspects in their 20s and 30s were arrested after police seized them nearby with a cache of weapons — rifles, grenades, handguns, helmets, bulletproof vests, uniforms and special communications equipment. The area is a hot zone for rival drug gangs, with members of three cartels fighting over turf in the region.

A semi-automatic WASR rifle, the firearm that killed the chief, was traced back to the Lone Wolf Trading Company, a gun store in Glendale, Ariz. The notation on the Department of Justice trace records said the WASR was used in a “HOMICIDE – WILLFUL – KILL –PUB OFF –GUN” –ATF code for “Homicide, Willful Killing of a Public Official, Gun.”

Hundreds of firearms were lost in the Fast and Furious operation. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowed illegal purchasers to buy the firearms at the Lone Wolf store in the Phoenix suburb and other gun shops in hopes of tracing them to Mexican cartel leaders.

The WASR used in Jalisco was purchased on Feb. 22, 2010, about three months into the Fast and Furious operation, by 26-year-old Jacob A. Montelongo of Phoenix. He later pleaded guilty to conspiracy, making false statements and smuggling goods from the United States and was sentenced to 41 months in prison.

Court records show Montelongo personally obtained at least 109 firearms during Fast and Furious. How the WASR ended up in the state of Jalisco, which is deep in central Mexico and includes the country’s second-largest metropolis, Guadalajara, remained unclear.

What the heck is a “WASR”? It’s a Romanian version of the AK-47, built for export. It’s not very high quality, but it is inexpensive. Once the rifles are imported, the importer usually does a bit of machining and parts replacement, which allows the stock rifle to accept standard AK magazines, and puts enough “American” parts into it to qualify the things as “American made” or at least “American enough” to get around the import restrictions. A “GP WASR-10” is essentially a semi-automatic AK-47, though WASRs come in a couple of other chamberings (.22LR, 5.56 NATO, etc). There are umpteen plus 3 different manufacturers of the AK weapon; it’s been in production for something like 50 years now. AK collectors generally rate the WASR at or near the very bottom of the quality heap. Regardless, it still goes bang and is still a lethal weapon. And here’s a bit of news that shows Obama and Holder’s dumbshit idea put a whole lot of deadly in the hands of some bad bad people. And they’re still killing. But, as our former Secretary of State and next Queen By Appointment Hillary says, “At this point, what difference does it make?”

The ATF declined to discuss the matter; officials said they are still compiling an inventory of all the lost firearms for a complete account of the Fast and Furious operation.

Instead of being tracked, almost all the weapons were lost as they flooded across the border into Mexico. In all, some 211 people were killed or wounded by Fast and Furious weapons in Mexico, according to Mexican authorities. And on this side of the border, a Fast and Furious weapon was found at the Arizona scene where U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was slain in 2010.

I’m sure it made a difference to the families of those 212 people.

The state of Jalisco is in south western Mexico, west of the capital of Mexico City. It includes the city of Guadalajara. It is roughly 900 miles south of the border towns of Ciudad Juarez/El Paso Texas. That’s the point of this post: DUH, these weapons have spread all across Mexico, and probably beyond by now.

Net Jobs “Created Or Saved”: Less Than Zero

Since January 2009, when Barack Obama was inaugurated as president, the United States has seen 54 straight months with the unemployment rate at 7.5 percent or higher, which is the longest stretch of unemployment at or above that rate since 1948, when the Bureau of Labor Statistics started calculating the national unemployment rate.

Today, BLS reported that the seasonally adjusted national unemployment rate for June was 7.6 percent, the same it was in May.

In December 2008, the month after Obama was first elected and the month before he was inaugurated, unemployment was 7.3 percent. In January 2009, it climbed to 7.8 percent. In February, the month Obama signed what the Congressional Budget Office would later determine was an $830 billion economic stimulus law, the unemployment rate climbed to 8.3 percent.

In the Obama era, the unemployment rate peaked at 10.0 percent in October 2010. It did not dip below 9 percent until October 2011, when it hit 8.9 percent.  From August to September 2012, it dropped from 8.1 percent to 7.8 percent—the first time during Obama’s tenure it went under 8 percent.

Since then, the lowest it has gone has been 7.5 percent—the rate it hit in April. But after April, it ticked back up to 7.6 percent in May and stayed at 7.6 percent in June.

And all this time, the labor force has been shrinking every month. The 7.6% rate you hear is the most tweaked and bullshitted number on the planet. As the graph above shows, given the same size labor force as in 2008, real unemployment is probably at least 10%. It is probably not possible to figure out the impact of the “I used to have a good job, but ...” folks who now work for peanuts either full time or part time. Under Obama, who has spent his entire regime doing NOTHING about actually getting the economy fired up again - hell, he’s spent years doing his level best to RUIN it - middle class America has shrunk vastly. The “Net Jobs LOST or DEGRADED” rate might be somewhere around 15%. I see an awful lot of closed shops around me, and I bet you do too.

Someday this uppity sanctimonious condescending halfrican bastard is going to get his, and I hope the video will be on YouTube for hundreds of millions of us to watch and enjoy forever. I am beyond tired of his belittling arrogance towards people who don’t agree with him. He is graceless and tactless, and completely without respect for others. This is not how the President of the United States should act.  Man, what a total douchenozzle.

President Obama angrily blasted climate change skeptics during his energy policy speech Tuesday at Georgetown University, saying he lacked “patience for anyone who denies that this problem is real.”

“We don’t have time for a meeting of the flat-Earth society,” Obama said. “Sticking your head in the sand might make you feel safer, but it’s not going to protect you from the coming storm.”

Earlier in his remarks, Obama said the “overwhelming judgement of science, of chemistry, of physics, and millions of measurements” put “to rest” questions about pollution affecting the environment.

“The planet is warming. Human activity is contributing to it,” Obama said.

“We know that the costs of these events can be measured in lost lives and lost livelihoods.”

The president noted that the 12 warmest years in recorded history have all come within the last 15 years, and said that rising temperatures were increasing the severity and impact of storms.

Well yeah, except for the bit that everything you just read is a total pile of hockey sticks. Falsified data, all sorts of leaked emails proving a vast academic conspiracy and phony computer modelling, the whole collapse of the Carbon Credits scam ... all put Global Warming IN IT’S GRAVE three years ago. Game. Over. So nothing is “settled”, there is no “science”, nothing is “overwhelming” other than your knot-headed arrogance and pathetic Velcro-like clinging to the scattered ashes of your fallen false idol and it’s lonely deranged prophets. No one has died from it. No jobs have been lost, other than those laid off at Solyndra and other Green Scam Stimulus shell companies all run by your big campaign contributors to whom you funneled hundreds of millions of tax dollars.

You are a liar Mr. Obama. A cheat, a fake, and a charlatan.

He noted that rising tide levels in New York increased the impact of Hurricane Sandy, while record temperatures killed crops and increased food prices in the Midwest.

“In a world that’s warmer than it used to be, all weather events are affected by the warming planet,” Obama said.

“Those who are feeling the effects of climate change don’t have time to deny it — they’re busy dealing with it.”

At the event, the president announced a timeline for setting new environmental regulations that will limit how much carbon pollution can be emitted from both new and existing power plants. The White House is directing the Environmental Protection Agency to write draft rules on carbon emissions from existing power plants within the next year, with the expectation they will be completed by June 2015.

Obama also said the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline should only be approved if the project would not “significantly exacerbate” greenhouse gas pollution.

Hurricane Sandy may have hit New York during a high tide, and it may have also hit New York during a seasonally high tidal period. Somebody go look it up, I can’t be bothered. That doesn’t mean the sea levels are rising you idiot. (oh, and hang on, weren’t you, the new God King, going to cure that? Wasn’t the day those useless idiots elected you the Magic Negro Day when the seas would start to fall and the planet heal, by your mighty presence alone? I’m certain you said almost exactly that in a speech. And look, the world gave you the Nobel Peace Prize IN ADVANCE knowing what wonders your miraculous self was going to work! So why do we need you to make a treasonous end run around Congress? Get out there and wave your magic wand, and make the tides recede ... I don’t care if it takes you 12 hours, go get it done!

And we have to suffer because of it. Because Choom Boy moved the goalposts again when you weren’t looking.

On Tuesday, Obama announced sweeping new regulations that will effectively block the construction of new coal-fired power plants and force the closure of many if not most existing coal-fired plants as well.  With the economy crawling along at 2% GDP growth, this announcement is a disaster for every American (except for those like Ms. Zichal and Mr. Obama, who have spent their entire lives working in government).

Obama’s new restrictions on coal-fired power plants will supposedly help to cool the planet.  America’s carbon emissions have been declining for decades, and yet global carbon emissions have been rising.  If emissions cause temperatures to rise, why are temperatures falling?

Even though global emissions continue to rise, U.S. levels are falling rapidly.  Having already cut U.S. carbon emissions back to 1992 levels, how much farther back do we have to go?  1950?  1900?  How about 1776?  The president, who once spoke of the goal of cutting carbon emissions to 1990 levels by 2020, now says that is not good enough.

The only thing more bizarre than a massive initiative to cool the climate when the climate is already cooling is the administration’s determination to lower U.S. carbon emissions when emissions have already dropped to 1992 levels.

What Obama seeks, what the left has always sought, is total control of the economy by the state, and “climate change” is a useful pretext. The only way government can control the energy sector—a sector of the economy traditionally regulated by the states—is to operate under the pretext of carbon emissions.

The nature of the pretext does not really matter.  Whether it is “workers’ rights,” as it was for Marx and Engels, or “economic recovery,” as it was in the 1930s, or climate change, as it is today, the left will always come up with some excuse.  What matters for the left is power—and an end to individual liberty.  What the left seeks in its regulation of the energy sector, in other words, is the complete regulation of the individual by government.

Oh, and how could I not link to at least one of the HUNDREDS of articles showing that we’re actually having Global Cooling, just like the Doom ‘n Gloom Squad predicted back in teh 70s.

Because King Obama Says So

President Obama is launching fresh battles over climate change with plans to curb emissions using executive powers that sidestep Congress — including controversial rules to cut carbon pollution from existing power plants. [WATCH VIDEO]

The wide-ranging plan, which Obama will tout in a speech later Tuesday, also beefs up federal efforts to help deploy low-carbon and renewable energy, and has programs to help harden communities against climate-fueled extreme weather.

Internationally, it seeks to knock down trade barriers to climate-friendly goods and services; enhance cooperation with India, China and other big carbon emitters; and curb U.S. support for overseas coal plant construction, among many other steps.

The plan is designed to get around Congress, where major climate bills have no political traction. White House spokesman Jay Carney said Monday that Obama’s executive approach “reflects reality.”

No Jay, you three faced lying sack of un-composted canine throughput, “reality” is a nation of laws, and the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government debating and making those laws. And if they won’t pass a law, you don’t get to just go and do an end run around them.

All the little chirpy talking heads on the Weather Channel were all excited about this today, how it’s going to Finally Do Something about Carbon Levels and Global Warming. And not one of these mesmerized sheep even blinked an eye at the completely un-American and probably illegal method being employed.

The EPA will propose the existing plant standards by June of next year and finalize them a year later, an administration official said.

Guess it’s high time for the EPA to go bye-bye too. No government agency has the right or the power to set rules that come with the power of law (and GUNS to back them up no less!!) without the consent of the governed ... ie, it HAS to go through the Legislature.

Daniel P. Schrag, a White House climate adviser and director of the Harvard University Center for the Environment, tells the New York Times “a war on coal is exactly what’s needed.” Later today, President Obama will give a major “climate change” address at Georgetown University.

“Everybody is waiting for action,” Schrag tells the paper. “The one thing the president really needs to do now is to begin the process of shutting down the conventional coal plants. Politically, the White House is hesitant to say they’re having a war on coal. On the other hand, a war on coal is exactly what’s needed.”

Obama’s speech today is expected to offer “a sweeping plan to address climate change on Tuesday, setting ambitious goals and timetables for a series of executive actions to reduce greenhouse gas pollution and prepare the nation for the ravages of a warming planet,” according to the Times.

I halfway agree. A war IS exactly what’s needed. But not on coal. On the Executive Branch.

The president calls for the Environmental Protection Agency to “expeditiously” set limits on carbon dioxide emissions for new and existing power plants, a move that will be hailed by environmentalists and decried as debilitating by the struggling coal industry.

“To accomplish these goals, President Obama is issuing a Presidential Memorandum directing the Environmental Protection Agency to work expeditiously to complete carbon pollution standards for both new and existing power plants,” states the Obama plan. “This work will build on the successful first-term effort to develop greenhouse gas and fuel economy standards for cars and trucks.”

“In developing the standards, the President has asked the Environmental Protection Agency to build on state leadership, provide flexibility, and take advantage of a wide range of energy sources and technologies including many actions in this plan,” the document continues.

Regulations previously proposed by the EPA to limit emissions at new power plants would effectively ban the construction of new coal-fired power plants unless they utilize carbon capture technology, which the industry argues is not commercially viable.

I have had it up the HERE with this buffoon. He is NOT God. He is NOT Emperor. He is NOT King. I have my doubts at this point that he’s even an American. Impeach this thug.

Wrong! Wrong!! Heavens to St. Pancake, those rebels are directly aligned with Al Qaeda! Our DECLARED ENEMY. How can arming them be anything other than TREASON???

As the White House appeared poised to send military aid to Syrian rebels, new concerns arose that the weapons will inevitably fall into the hands of terrorist groups who count themselves among hundreds of factions that form the rag-tag Free Syrian Army.

President Obama, seeking to stem a bloody civil war that has now claimed more than 92,000 lives, has authorized food and medicine for the rebels seeking to oust President Bashar Assad, but had stopped short of military aid. But with U.S. officials confirming Assad’s use of chemical weapons against civilians - crossing Obama’s “red line” - the White House strongly indicated that weapons are on the way.

“The president has made the decision to authorize additional assistance, but we’re not going into specifics,” National Security Council spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan told FoxNews.com Friday. “The president has been very clear that all options are on the table, with the exception of U.S. troops on the ground. That is not a possibility.”

Initial military aid is expected to consist of small arms and ammunition. That could include a range of weapons, including small arms, assault rifles, shoulder-fired rocket-propelled grenades and other anti-tank missiles which the opposition forces could operate without significant training. But the rebel Free Syrian Army, which now gets light arms from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, said on Friday more light weaponry from the U.S. would be largely “meaningless.” The Syrian Opposition Coalition called for “strategic and decisive” support.

No, it would not be meaningless, but in a broader context. The meaning is that Obama would drag us into HIS SECOND WAR in the Middle East, again backing the wrong side. He did his best to LOSE Iraq, and his mirror image worldview/natural incompetence has screwed up the Afghanistan campaign to no end other than “throw up your hands and go home”. But his actions (along with the EU’s) in Libya led directly to the overthrow in Egypt and the A-Q driven civil war in Mali. And where is Libya today? Is it an open minded peace-love-and-granola-Kumbayah-commune? Hell no. And Egypt? Muslim Brotherhood all the way. Terrorists. The ones who just yesterday were talking about declaring war on their enemies Israel and the USA. Way to go knucklehead.

Arm the Syrian rebels and Syria will declare war on US. Just what we need. And every jihadi hothead in the world will have a fresh excuse to go on a killing rampage.

Stay out of it. Don’t even try to have your puppets sneak things in in the dark. Let Syria burn, because we win either way. Sorry, but that’s the truth. Get involved directly, and we lose either way.

Blowbama gets it wrong, every time. Couldn’t even score the Olympics. This guy is 0 for 10 or worse. Bad. Worse. By design. Whatever he wants is ALWAYS wrong for America. On purpose.

USA! go away!: stay out of Syria. Mind your own business.

PS - Yes, he backed himself into a corner with his “red line” bullshit. So what? He’s got the world’s best spin doctors working for him, and the media is still joyfully on its knees. Vice President Joe Biden praised former Vice President Al Gore, who was present during a fundraiser for Massachusetts Senate Candidate Ed Markey, asserting that Gore had actually won the the 2000 presidential election.

With characteristic hyperbole, Biden introduced the former Vice President while praising his political career.

“This man was elected president of the United States of America,” Biden said according to the pool report. “No, no, no. He was elected president of the United States of America. But for the good of the nation, when the bad decision in my view was made, he did the right thing for the nation.”

Biden, a potential 2016 candidate for president, praised Gore’s decision to accept the Supreme Court’s decision and walk away from the presidency.

Holy flying fartknuckles. Do we have to do this crap AGAIN? STILL?

Joe, you fucking moron. Your boy LOST. He lost the recount. He lost the other recount. When all was said and done and the major leftwing newspapers did their own recounts, he lost them too. And they admitted it. Florida followed it’s own law in declaring Bush the winner of that state when it did. The final Supreme Court decision was fair and simple: follow the law on your books. So Bush WAS elected. Not selected. Now go take 3 more of your blue pills and go sit in the shade for a while.

Whenever it looks like Obama is really deep in the caca and feeling paranoid, they let the Vice President out of his little cardboard box to make some public statement. And then even the most deranged trigger happy crazies on the Right settle down for a while, realizing that if Obama was out of the way, this turbo-idiot would be in charge. Horry Clap.

But you know what? Biden, as tenaciously stupid as he is, is merely reflecting the opinion of millions of other lefties. They’re still pissed off over this, probably because they didn’t cheat quite enough that time around. Jumping Jimmy on a pogo stick, freakin Gore didn’t even win his own home state. He lost.

And Bush was not behind 9/11 either, so STFU on that one too.

Mooch’s Maternal Marker Mistreated

Vandals knock over monument for Michelle Obama ancestor
Police are trying to figure out who knocked over a monument dedicated to an ancestor of first lady Michelle Obama.

“When I saw it, I shed a few tears,” Vicki Smith told Channel 2’s Linda Stouffer.

Smith helped get the monument to Rex. It’s a tribute to Melvinia Shields, the great-great-great grandmother of [Mrs.] Obama. Shields was born into slavery in 1844 and later moved to Georgia.

Clayton County Commissioner Sonna Singleton said the monument company will have to lift the heavy stone to check for cracks after someone pushed it off the foundation block.

“It was our little source of pride because here we are in little old Rex, Georgia, and we had ties to the White House, so there’s pride in us for that,” Singleton said.

It was almost a year ago that the Clayton County community celebrated the monument’s installation.

“We’re going to believe just the way we showed that unity on that day here in Rex when we had the dedication of this memorial, we’re going to believe that there’s not that kind of hatred or dissension that someone would do this,” Singleton said.

Gosh, that’s just low.

Granted, it’s a “who cares?” kind of monument, seeing as Melvinia was just a person. One slave out of millions. So putting up the marker in the first place doesn’t hurt anything, but she wasn’t a person of note like an artist, inventor, surgeon, or politician. She was just a woman of her time. And perhaps that’s sufficient reason. Just that she was born in 1844. Oh, and she’s a progenitor of FLOTUS on her mother’s side, so Rex GA is currying a bit of favor. That’s it. And now someone has kicked it over.

Two more things here I find interesting:

One, Michelle Obama is just over 3 years younger than I am. My great grandmother was born in 1875, so presumably my great-great grandmother was born somewhere around 1845-1855. Her family has managed to squeeze in an entire extra generation in the same time period, 6 generations in 120 years.

Two, G3gma Melvinia grew up in bondage, spending the first 21 years of her life as a slave, with all the terrible trials, tribulations, suffering, and neglect inherent therein. And she lived somehow to the ripe old age of 95. I recall reading somewhere that the laborers who built ancient Egypt, whether they were slaves or not, generally died in their early 40s if they lived that long. The government housed and fed them as best as they could, but they still died OLD at that young age. Actually, throughout most of history women have generally died young, not just from injury, famine, and disease but from the rigors of childbirth. Guess Melvinia was one of the very lucky ones, even completely escaping the malefaction of slavery. Actually, looking at Mooch’s family tree I see that quite a number of her enslaved ancestors lived decently long lives.

I’m sure the little stone marker will be reset ASAP.

Put Another Log On The Fire

How many more of these will we need until the cold fact that the entire federal government takes it’s orders from the top can no longer be ignored?

It’s not just the IRS.

A second federal agency is facing a probe and accusations of political bias over its alleged targeting of conservative groups.

The allegations concern the Environmental Protection Agency, which is being accused of trying to charge conservative groups fees while largely exempting liberal groups. The fees applied to Freedom of Information Act requests—allegedly, the EPA waived them for liberal groups far more often than it did for conservative ones.

The allegations are under investigation by the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which is also holding hearings on the Internal Revenue Service targeting of conservative groups.

“I don’t think it is fair at all. It is not fair to the American taxpayer—the American taxpayer should expect and demand that the EPA treats everyone equally in regard to these requests,” said Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Tim Murphy, a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee. “This cannot be tolerated. As we see more federal agencies with this kind of bias, it is and should be a concern for all of us.”

Research by the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), a conservative Washington, D.C., think tank, claims that the political bias is routine when it comes to deciding which groups are charged fees. Christopher Horner, senior fellow at CEI, said liberal groups have their fees for documents waived about 90 percent of the time, in contrast with conservative groups that it claims are denied fee waivers about 90 percent of the time.

Obama Urged to Sign Arms Trade Treaty Immediately

Advocacy groups here are stepping up a campaign to pressure President Barack Obama to quickly sign on to a new United Nations treaty aimed at regulating, for the first time, the international small-arms trade.

The Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), adopted by the U.N. in April following on years of preparation, opens for country signature on Monday. It passed with just three “no” votes, coming from Iran, North Korea and Syria, and will require the ratification of 50 countries to come into effect.

“The U.S. has said that it feels its export control system is one of the best in the world, and that it would like to see those standards replicated in the ATT,” Clare Da Silva, legal advisor on the ATT with Amnesty International, told IPS.

She says she is confident that the United States will sign on, though it most likely will not be on Monday.

“There is nothing in this treaty that requires the U.S. to do anything differently,” Rachel Stohl, a senior associate at the Stimson Center, a think tank here, said at a panel discussion Friday. “Rather, the issue here is simply the symbolism of saying that [the U.S.] is committed to this on an international level – that’s really important.”

Lawmakers urge Obama to reject UN international arms regulation treaty

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have banded together to urge President Obama not to sign a landmark international arms regulation treaty, as the U.N. measure opens for signature Monday.

The president has already voiced support for the treaty, which the U.N. General Assembly overwhelmingly approved on April 2. It would require countries that ratify it to establish national regulations to control the transfer of conventional arms and components and to regulate arms brokers, but it will not explicitly control the domestic use of weapons in any country.

Still, gun-rights supporters on Capitol Hill warn the treaty could be used as the basis for additional gun regulations inside the U.S.

Last week, 130 members of Congress signed a letter to Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry urging them to reject the measure for this and other reasons.

“As your review of the treaty continues, we strongly encourage your administration to recognize its textual, inherent and procedural flaws, to uphold our country’s constitutional protections of civilian firearms ownership, and to defend the sovereignty of the United States, and thus to decide not to sign this treaty,” the lawmakers wrote.

In truth, the Small Arms Treaty would have no power in the USA unless it was also ratified by the Senate. Which is highly unlikely. They really do like their jobs and their fancy homes. And such ratification would immediately cause about a third of the nation to feel it was suddenly at war with the UN. A good number of them feel that IOTUS signing the treaty would be an impeachable offense, completely unconstitutional (ie “what part of shall not be infringed don’t you understand??") and perhaps an act of treason. And I agree. Like the Law Of The Sea Treaty, and like Kyoto, the UN’s Small Arms Treaty is bad for freedom, and bad for America. Which is why the leftys love it. 

But it is just a tiny bit amusing to see how the various media networks show their true colors, running either Story A or Story B but not both.

Yeah, THAT Private Army

The DHS appears to have finally found a use for all those bullets it’s been buying. At a Tea Party protest outside an IRS building in St. Louis yesterday there were no regular police – only armed Homeland Security guards.

Video footage from the demonstration at which protesters, including Infowars.com readers, chanted “no more harassment,” shows numerous DHS Federal Protective Service vehicles along with several armed DHS guards. There is not a regular police officer in sight.

The St. Louis demonstration was just one of numerous similar protests against the IRS’s punitive targeting of conservative groups that took place across the country yesterday. Homeland Security agents also kept a watchful eye on a Tea Party rally in Florida.

The DHS was supposedly founded to protect against and respond to terrorist attacks, man-made accidents, and natural disasters. It was not created to protect the IRS from peaceful protesters, but in the decade since its inception, Big Sis has morphed into an entity that polices and monitors political free speech as one of its primary functions.
